Building a Drying Chamber
1/4 inch wire mesh - Hardware Store
Tools: Sheet Metal Scissors - Hardware Store
How it works... Calcium Chloride pulls the moisture out of the air. This moisture will collect on the bottom and be discarded after each drying process.
Lay the clean cloth on the mesh screen like you see here.
Pour about a 1/2" of Calcium Chloride (Damp Be Gone) onto the cloth and spread it out evenly. Keep it neat and away from the walls of the container.
Cut yet another circular wire mesh to fit about a 1" above the Calcium Chloride (does not have to be exact...just do not lit your mushrooms touch the stuff...trust me...it will taste awful).
That is all there is to it! Pop the lid on and you have yourself a nice little drying chamber! Just big enough for some goodies you have growing on top of your refrigerator or in your closet!
Important! If you do want to deal with building a Drying Chamber this is what you can do....
Place the mushrooms in a baggie and KEEP YOUR EYE ON THEM!
